Grandmaster Kongjie Gou

Good evening Black Dragon family. As you may or not know our beloved grandmaster Kongjie Gou has sadly passed away. Many of you have trained with him, many of you called him friend. It is a truly sad time for everybody.

Please try to take a moment to remember grandmaster. Think of a happy memory that made you smile or a time when he helped you most. As long as we remember his teachings and carry on the Chen legacy grandmaster’s memory and teachings will always live on in us.

Team Shaolin Championships 2015

imageOn Saturday 26th September members of the Black Dragon Family were lucky enough to be invited to compete in the Team Shaolin Championships 2015 at the Tang Long Chinese Cultural Centre in London.

On arrival at Tang Long we immediately felt at home and welcomed as the cultural centre has the same feeling as our very own school. The 3rd Cultural Shaolin Festival

On Saturday 11th October the Black Dragon Competitors ventured out on an early morning trip up to The London Soccerdome to take part in the competition as part of the 3rd Cultural Shaolin Festival.

Taking part in the prestigious competition were: Ruby Pierce, Ashleigh Wykes, Harry Adaway and Liam Fitz-Patrick; all of whom were most excited to see the world famous Abbot Shi Yongxin and perform in front of the renowned Shaolin monks.

Another Great Result, 2011 Wu’s Tai Chi Chuan London Results

We have been at it again, producing yet more great competition results by our Tai Chi competitors.

On the 12th of June 2011 a selection of competitors from the Black Dragon Tai Chi Aylesbury class entered the Wu’s Tai Chi Chuan competition held at Bethnal Green, London.

In the Mixed Style Junior Weapon Forms the club was represented by Tess Pierce and Harry Adaway. Effective Hands Seminar by Brian Desir

Esteemed Wing Chun Practioner and close friend of Sifu Clive, Brian Desir has once again hournered the Black Dragon by giving the students a high quality Wing Chun seminar and demonstartion.

During the seminar he talked and instructed on the finner points of Ip Chun’s teaching and power development.
Originally a boxing student Brian discovered Wing Chun whilst studying under Master Goh.

Brian Desir’s Chi Sau competition results 2011

FAIRFORD Leys’ Harry Adaway walked away with four gold medals from two big martial arts tournaments recently.
The 11 year old secured top spots in the non-contact Chinese Hand Form and Chinese Weapon disciplines at the British Tai Chai Open in Oxford just before Easter- and then repeated the feat at the Malympex European Championships held at Stoke Mandveille Stadium a few weeks later.
At the Euros, he was also the only child to take part in actual Tai Chai against 12 adults, in which he came a very respectable eighth.

Thank you to all spectators and students who attended our 2011 Chinese New year celebrations.

We where extremely Honoured to have esteemed Kung-Fu and Tai-Chi Guests including: Grandmaster KongJie Gou, Shifu Zhe, Shifu Xue, Shifu Rudie Byone, and Shifu Wayne Husband.

Watching the junior students and seeing their progression was fascinating and getting to watch true martial art icons give impromptu demonstrations was an inspiring highlight for the studentsG.Downs
